Real-world example

Why others miss it (and we don't)

Scenario: Your family watch (a Rolex) is stolen. You have a photo of it on your wooden desk.

The thief: Lists it on Facebook Marketplace, placed on a white pillow, with a vague title: "Men's automatic watch" (no brand mentioned)

Swoopa

Looks for "Rolex" in the text → not found

TinEye

Compares pixels (wood != white) → different image

Lost & Found

Recognizes the WATCH → found!

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Lost & Found

You upload a photo (JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC from iPhone — 30 MB max). Our system, powered by Google Lens technology and its global index — the largest in the world, with billions of web pages — analyzes your item. Unlike classic image search tools that compare pixels, our AI recognizes the object itself — your watch on a wooden desk, the thief's photo on a white background, we still detect it's the same item. Results appear in your dashboard with a direct link to the source. With continuous monitoring, this search is automatically rerun every day. You don't have to think about it.
Any visually identifiable item can be searched: bikes, electronics, jewelry, watches, musical instruments, artwork, luxury bags, and more. Items that work best are rare, older, or have distinctive features — scratches, custom parts, swapped straps, limited editions. A perfect example: a vintage watch with a non-original strap. Our technology excels at distinguishing these details. On the other hand, very common items without distinctive features (a basic white t-shirt, a standard non-custom Rolex Submariner) may generate more matches to sort through, because thousands of identical units exist online.
Everything Google can index — not just eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Vinted, but also Chrono24, Vestiaire Collective, forums, and billions of other pages. If someone posts your item on Instagram or inside a Facebook group, we can see that too. We prioritize e-commerce listings in the results, but our monitoring truly spans the entire visible web.
Yes - worldwide. Our system scans the global web. When you create your search, you can select a country to prioritize results from that region, but it does not limit the search. Even if you choose "United States", you'll still see listings from other countries if they match. If you want maximum coverage with no regional preference, simply select "Worldwide".
A smart thief doesn't resell online immediately - they wait for things to cool down, or sell quietly to someone who doesn't know the item is stolen. That buyer may later resell it online. Luxury items change hands quickly: collectors, resellers, sudden need for cash... That's why we're confident your item can eventually resurface. The question isn't "if" - it's "when".
You'll receive an email notification with the match type (Identical, Look-alike, or For sale) and a direct link to the listing. Then it's up to you: report it to law enforcement for legal recovery, or buy it back to secure it quickly (as our co-founder did). We're an intelligence tool that helps you locate — not an intervention service.
Google Lens is the recognition technology our system is built on — you can use it for free in the Google app. So why pay for Lost & Found? Because Google Lens does one-time searches. We do automatic daily searches. With Google Lens, you'd have to open the app, upload your photo, and review the results manually — every day, for months or years. In practice, this fails for three reasons: (1) No history — Google Lens returns the same results every time, so you can't tell what's new. (2) Impossible discipline — after a few weeks with no results, you stop checking. And that's when the listing goes live and sells within 1–3 days. (3) No alerts — nobody tells you when a match appears. Lost & Found solves all three: automatic daily search in the background, result history so you only see what's new, and smart email alerts when something appears. You upload your photo once — we monitor the web for you until your item resurfaces.
Today, if you want to find an item online, your only options are services like TinEye Alerts or Berify, or doing manual searches with Google Lens. They're the closest thing to what you need — but they don't actually solve the problem. TinEye, Berify, and similar services all rely on pixel-by-pixel image matching: they can only find copies of the exact same photo. If a thief takes a new photo of your item on a different background for example, they miss it. Lost & Found was built to fill this gap. Our system, powered by Google Lens technology, uses object recognition: we identify the item itself within photos, regardless of background, angle, or lighting.
The free trial gives you one full search across the entire web. Our object recognition technology, powered by Google Lens technology, analyzes your photo and compares it against billions of indexed images. Results appear immediately in your dashboard — marketplaces, social media, classifieds, and any other public site. No charge, no commitment. Your results remain accessible indefinitely in your dashboard. The only limitation: it's a snapshot at one point in time. If your item isn't listed for sale at that moment, it won't be detected. Continuous monitoring (subscription) automatically reruns this search every day.
We verify your card (no charge) to confirm it's valid and hasn't already been used for a trial on another account. Why a card and not just an email? Because creating dozens of email addresses to get unlimited free trials is easy. Getting multiple different credit cards is much harder. The card is our best anti-abuse measure to ensure one trial per person. This trial is permanent and non-renewable — even if you delete the search that used it, the trial won't be restored. If your card is already linked to an account that used the trial, the free trial won't be available — but you can always subscribe to a plan directly.
The free trial lets you test the service at no cost. To activate continuous daily monitoring: your first monitored item costs $9.99/month (monthly), or $4.99/month with annual billing — that's 50% off. Each additional item costs $4.99/month (monthly) or $2.49/month with annual billing — that's 50% off. There's no limit to how many items you can monitor.
No — and that's the point. We track all previously found matches and only notify you when something new appears. No spam, no repeats. You also choose which result categories trigger an email: Identical (highest confidence it's your item), For sale (matching items listed for sale), or Look-alike (visual matches found on the web). By default, only Identical is enabled. This way, you control what reaches your inbox — only high-confidence matches, or the full picture. All results are always saved in your dashboard regardless.
Yes. Your photos are stored securely and used only to run your search (and daily reruns if you enable continuous monitoring). We never share them with third parties, never use them for marketing, and you can delete them at any time by deleting your search. Canceling your subscription (stopping continuous monitoring) stops daily monitoring but keeps the search and its history in your dashboard.
Absolutely. You can cancel your continuous monitoring subscription at any time. Your data — photos, results, search history — is preserved after cancellation. You can reactivate monitoring whenever you want and pick up exactly where you left off. No long-term commitment, no penalties.
Lost & Found started with a true story. Someone close to us was robbed and lost a watch they had inherited from their grandfather - irreplaceable, not because of the price tag, but because of what it meant. We looked for a tool that could automatically scan the web to find it. It didn't exist. So we built it. And yes: that person eventually recovered their watch thanks to our tool.
